Cancer Medical Bills

Nick is a 16 year old battling cancer. Over two years ago my nephew, Nick Widner, was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. Nick is a fun loving, caring young man who even now tries to think of ways to help those around him. The last two years have been a constant struggle physically, emotionally and financially for the family.
Nick started out with numerous rounds of chemo, followed by surgery to remove the tumor which resulted in a total knee replacement and removal of nine inches of his femur bone. This was followed by more rounds of chemo.
During one of the scans they discovered spots on his lungs. Earlier this year Nick underwent double lung surgery to remove the spots and to determine if the cancer had spread. The spots were determined to be a result of the cancer spreading and they started a more aggressive chemo trying to stop the growths in his lungs. The last scan did show the areas shrinking but two of the spots were very close to the lining of the lungs and need to be removed before they migrate to other parts of his body.
While waiting for the surgery to be scheduled Nick started having issues with his bladder and has since been readmitted to the hospital. His bladder is hemorrhaging and he is passing blood/blood clots. The damage to his bladder is a direct result of the chemo.
As you can imagine this has been a tremendous strain on my brother’s family and I am reaching out to you asking for donations to help with their financial needs. They have missed a great deal of work over the last two years and the medical bills are mounting.
