Toni Cole's Battle With Cancer

Toni Cole was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer. TOni is the wife of Quitman Police Chief, Kelly Cole. Toni serves the town of Quitman in multiple capacities. She is a member of the QUitman CIty Council and steps in for the Mayor in his absence as Mayor Pro Tem. TOni also sits on several boards and serves as secretary for the Northeast Texas Child Advocacy Center and Wood County Crime Stoppers Boards. She is a member of the Quitman/Lake Fork Kiwanis Club and will soon take over the presidency.
Toni was born and raised in QUitman and chose to remain in Quitman to raise her children, Sean, 22 and Abby, 15. Toni's pride in her hometown is evident. Recently she dedicated several evenings to pulling weeds in the downtown area, stopping only when she became too sick to continue.
Toni is an employee of the Wood County Sheriff's Office - she is te friendly, compassionate person answering the phone and greeting folks at the front window. Toni's sick hours and vacation hours have all been used and she now faces the reality of the loss of her salary. She will also be required to take over paying her insurance premiums once she runs out of FMLA hours. Toni has endured one surgery but is possubly facing more surgeries. Chemo treatments will begin soon as part of Toni's attack on this aggressive cancer.
Despite bleak prognosis, you will rarely find Toni without her wonderful smile on her face. Her positive attitude is contagious and an encounter with her quite often leads to smiles and laughter.
