Read their story below:

There are many of you that are wondering what is happening with Cindie’s medical issues over the last year. It has taken a while for her to come to accept what is happening to her, but she is now asking for help with this situation.

Just over a year ago, Cindie was hospitalized for the 3rd time with Pancreatitis. This last episode was so bad, that her kidney’s shut down and she was in ICU for 3 days. After almost 2 weeks hospitalized, in sever pain, she recovered enough to go home. However, due to this episode, her kidneys have gone into kidney failure very rapidly over the last year.

In May, 2014, her doctor’s informed her that her kidneys were indeed failing, and that she would need a transplant right away. In the meantime, she is undergoing daily dialysis at home, which is very time consuming and costly. Although her insurance covers a portion of the expense for the supplies, etc, the out of pocket costs for supplies, medication and doctor appointments are staggering.

At this time, Cindie and Chuck have met with the transplant teams at both the University of Wisconsin – Madison and Loyola University Transplant Centers. She has been undergoing numerous tests that they are requiring before they can place her on the transplant list. The wait time for a kidney to become available in Wisconsin averages 2-4 years and in Illinois the wait time averages from 4-6 years. In the meantime, she is looking for any possible donors. If anyone would like to be tested to donate, we can give you the contact information.

Although Cindie is able to do her dialysis at home, it requires her husband Chuck to prepare the machine every day, keep inventory of supplies, monitor her daily and run the household. Although at this time Cindie works, this disease is very exhausting and debilitating. There are days that she can hardly get out of bed. All of this is very depressing for her, as you can imagine. Luckily, her boys are teenagers and are always there to help their father take care of her.

Your generosity is greatly appreciated and will go a long way in helping her and her family fight this disease. Her medical costs monthly are piling up, and it doesn’t look like there is any reprieve in sight.

Thank you for your understanding and support!!!
