Recent unfortunate events, have me reaching out for help. My name is Jeremy Swisher, I own/opperate a small business in Grand Forks ND Ojata Records & DogMahal Doghaus
we offer Vintage Vinyl, Comic & Misc. Goods + the best Hot Dogs & All Ages Live Music Venue in the area. I'm a single father of 2 wonderful/beautiful redhead girls, Zella -7 & Jaimee -22.
Adversity has me in it's clutchs again, & I'm finding it hard to cope with the financial stresses involed.
In mid July '14, I took a trip to Hinton Iowa, to serve Hot Dogs & Tacos at Human Fest 2, a music festival hosted by good friend Matt Church of the awseome band Ghosts of Guyana -Sioux City IA. & Pipe Dreams Camping & Tubing near Hinton Ia. This trip proved a bit too much for the vehical used to pull HOBO-A-GO-GO, My Mobile Food Trailer i.e. I've effectivly killed the engine on my Fathers '06 Chev S10 pickup. Seems the radiator had developed a crack & had bled dry, thus overheating engine, burning up the themostat, heatercore, rings & bearings, etc. resulting in one dead pickup truck.
Upon returning to Grand Forks, ND. I'd been back only a week & received a letter from my landlord expaining that the space at 300 DeMers Ave where my business is located (going on 4 yrs), has been rented to the Freedon Church in the adjacent suite to mine, as their expansion needs will have my business vacate the current building 308 DeMers Ave. effective Nov 1. '14.
I've found a great new location to resume business as Ojata Records/DogMahal DogHaus here in GFND. Currently I'm looking for proper vehicle (truck or van) to haul HOBO-A-GO-GO moble hot dog battlestation. This will take a lot of work packing & moving + decent sum to make deposit & rent to re-open in this new spot.
For those of you who appreciate what myself & numbers of volunteers are doing here, help us get word out & promote this fundaiser, & perhaps lend a hand in packing & the move slated for this coming Oct.
I could really use everyone's help here, for me to gain the capitol to move/relocate said business, & either fix or upgrade vehicle to haul my mobile food unit.
What the Fredom Church GFND. & building Landlords don't understand... as their needs may seemingly out weigh mine. They're putting out a unique local business gaining national recognition, with a fantastic customer & fan-base in the 1000s, & dissrupting a DIY. foundation, supporting local & regional youth, music, arts, culture, let alone my personal family's livelyhood.
I typically don't ask for handouts, & I do my fair share to help others when I can. Please know that anything would be much appreciated in these times of hardship, be it positive thought, good will donation, vehicle, or $. It will be payed forward once finances are recouped.
