My Mother, Margaret Kalish

Donation protected
This page is for my mother, Margaret Kalish. Two years ago she was diagnosed with an extremely aggressive form of brain cancer, Glioblastoma Multiforme. Shortly after her diagnosis she was forced to stop working due to loss of vision. She was given a life expectancy of 1 to 2 years. Things went fairly well for the first year, but shortly after her 50th birthday on August 19, 2013, that began to change.

In October 2013, her cancer returned much more aggressively, spreading to two different areas of her brain. The tumors affected her memory, her ability to write, and caused speech impairments and paralysis of the right side of her body. My mother spent a month in the hospital from December to January. Since January 2014, she has been living in a nursing home.

As of late, her condition has taken a dramatic turn for the worse. Her chemo treatments have failed to keep her cancer at bay, and I am now facing the reality of losing my mother very, very soon.

Any donations towards my mother's burial expenses are greatly and tremendously appreciated. Thank you.

Update: My mother passed away on August 15, 2014 at 11:35 p.m. I know that she is in a better place and can now rest peacefully. Thank you for all of the support, love, prayers and generosity shown during this time.

Please join us for a memorial service celebrating her life on Saturday, August 23, at 10:30 a.m. It will be held in the Cremation Garden at Eden Memorial Park Cemetery, with lunch to follow afterwards.
