Six Month African Mission

Touching lives in different cultures, living the local way and spreading God’s love, this is my life’s mission. After years of facilitating Christian youth retreats and being involved in benefit concerts for an African medical clinic, I realized that this work is my passion. Upon graduating high school this spring, I decided the best way to start this next chapter of my life would be to experience global mission work before pursuing my degree in religious studies in the fall of 2015.

After lots of research, I enrolled in the IMMERSION program at Experience Mission; a Christian for purpose organization. This program brings young adults to areas of need. It begins in New York and travels to South Africa, Namibia and Lesotho for six months beginning January 2015. I will work with churches, missionaries, schools, non profits and learn to live the local way. We will be eating their food, walking their roads, singing their language and bathing in their river, EM says, by doing this, we are learning and demonstrating that, “we’re all the same.” This method creates life-altering relationships and lasting change for all involved.

This new journey would not be possible without you. My goal is to create a network of support through prayer and donation. This support will encourage me when times are challenging along the way. All donations are appreciated; every single dollar is a step closer to this amazing experience.
