Save the home of Phil and pets

This is Phil the Painter. Some of you may have seen him around town holding his sign requesting work. He supports his wife, who is very sick, and has adopted the many stray cats that live in his neighborhood. Every day that Phil is not working on a painting job, he is standing on a street corner looking for his next gig. When he makes his daily walk up and down 9th Avenue to get cat food from a local market, he stops at abandoned houses where he knows animals are living, and feeds them as well.

It has been a while since Phil has had a steady job, and to make matters worse, his wife has left the home due to her illness. Today he told me, "Nate, sometimes I think it would be easier just giving up and being homeless, but I have to think about my animal friends and my wife. What would they do without me? I have to keep pushing through."

He is one of the hardest working painters I have ever met. He has worked for me and numerous friends of mine. But he has fallen behind. I told Phil that I would help him find some more work, but in the meantime, I would like to help him above and beyond that and get him caught up on his bills.

I have set an initial goal of $1,500 but if we go over that there is so much more we can help Phil with: a car, food for his animal friends, groceries, new clothing, etc. and so if we go beyond our goal, it will go to help Phil in other parts of his life.

Thank you so much for your consideration in helping make a little miracle for Phil the Painter and the animals he cares for!
