My name is Mike Green and I live in Northwest Harris County in Texas.
Like so many, friends of ours, the Malave' Family, have been impacted by the floods of Hurricane Harvey. These are the nicest people you would ever meet - a family of four with two small children. From Venezuala, no family of their own that live nearby, they've been through so much to land here in Texas, which they love and call home. These are people who live humbly, donate their time to the community, and are the best neighbors you could ever imagine. It took Harvey to flood their home for the first time since it was built almost a decade ago.
Our friends won't need much to get back from the flood but they don't have much extra to spare either. Anything we raise together will go a long way to getting their life back to normal.
The family had about a foot of water in their home and are still assessing the damage. They will need to replace carpet, their master bedroom furniture and perhaps even kitchen cabinets and appliances. The car pictured was also flooded but was covered by insurance. They will come back from this but with our help we could drastically shorten the time it will take for their lives to return to normal.
I am looking to raise enough funds to repair the home and replace the bedroom furniture. If you look closely enough you will see their bed is at the bottom of the pile of sheetrock and carpet. All that needs to be replaced. If enough funds are raised I will throw a party to invite all those involved in donating.
