Brian’s Journey
Hello, my name is Wendy and I married my soul mate Brian Lewis on June 4, 1994. We have been married 20 years and have had wonderful memories, starting with our 3 beautiful children.
Austin 20 is attending McHenry College. He is a fulltime EMT and a part time fire fighter, Alex 17 is attending Metamora High School and loves playing baseball every chance he can get, Emma 13 is at Germantown Hills and is involved in dance and cheerleading.
I have been an employee of Dr. George Gilbert, who has allowed for me to take time off when needed for treatments and days when Brian is not feeling well. We have enjoyed creating lasting life memories with our children and each other.
Unfortunately, 5 years ago, 2 weeks before Christmas, Brian was diagnosed with a rare form of sarcoma cancer. We both new with his determination and drive he was going to beat this. His cancer treatments have been emotionally, physically, financially draining. He has had to undergo 6 surgeries, 8 weeks of radiation treatments, 2 brutal rounds of hospitalized chemotherapy treatments and 4 months of weekly outpatient chemotherapy treatments. Sadly after all of the surgeries and treatments, Brain has been given the diagnosis of stage 4 terminal cancer with life expectancy of 3 months.
Brian has been with Frontier for 15 years. He has always provided for us. He is a husband, father, brother, friend, co-worker and so much more to many people. Brian is one of those people that will go out of his way to help others in need. Unfortunately its Brian’s time to get the love and support that he has given to so many of us. We as a family are trying to spend as much time as we can together with him, surrounding him with love and support. He knows what this is doing and will do to his family and would never ask for anyone’s help. A group of family and friends who have always helped us with emotional and spiritual support have now come together to help with financial support. Our family is so grateful for all those who have supported us throughout our lives and especially during our difficult times. Hopefully one day Brian’s journey will not have to be anyone else’s journey either.
