Emmett's Top Surgery

Hey, thank you for clicking!
My name is Emmett Kaiser and I am 21 years old. I go to school at Virginia Tech, where I am a Senior Psychology major.
I am also a transgender male, and am fortunate enough to have been on hormones for over two years now. However, in order to live my fullest and most genuine life, I require the ability to undergo top surgery, or a double mastectomy.
For the past couple years (and as of now), I have used a binder to simulate the appearance of a flat chest. Doing so throughout my daily life means I wear it for hours at a time, which causes me pain, discomfort, and body dysphoria.
Top surgery would change my life, and I don't know when I will ever be able to afford it without the help of others. I am unable to afford health insurance, unable to receive a loan (because I am currently accumulating large amounts of debt for my education), and although I work as many hours as I can, it's never enough to make a significant difference. Saving on my own would take at least 4-5 years, if not longer.
My goal here is to raise $15,000, which would cover the surgery, travel costs, and costs for the time I will be unable to work because I will be recovering from the surgery.
It would make the biggest difference in my quality of life and confidence as a person to be able to breathe without being constricted by a binder, to be able to swim and relax with my shirt off, to walk across the stage when i graduate from Tech with pride, and allow my body and I to come closer to recognizing each other.
Thank you for reading my story, and please share it with as many people as you can. I can't do this without your help.
