Barney's Last Chance
Donation protected
Barney and his brother were 2 year old puggles, surrendered to a Worcester Animal Shelter last year. Barney's brother was adopted right away. Barney, on the other hand, was not. Barney's left front leg had been previously crushed in a recliner and it needed to be amputated. The Rivers family thought nothing of adopting a 3 legged dog and it was love at first sight. Barney came home in December 2013 and was a welcomed part of the Rivers family. He was so happy to play, always wagged his tail and never let his disability stop him from being the happiest dog... until a few weeks ago. Barney accidently landed on his right front leg and broke it. He was immediately brought to the vet and for $3,000 they set his leg, added some required hardware and casted him up. He did well for a few days and once he put weight on the leg, the screw securing Barney's broken leg snapped and he was facing yet another surgery. Another $1,000+ it would cost the Rivers to have Barney's leg set again with stronger hardware and a bigger cast. Some would think this might be Barney's last hope.. but not the Rivers. They are already preparing to find or design a device that will help Barney live a playful normal life, even if he might not have the use of his remaining front leg. We are hoping to help them with the medical expenses and the cost of a device. There are animal lovers amoung us who would surely understand that we do ANYTHING for our pets, as they are family. Please help us, help the Rivers on their journey with Barney. Any donation is welcome! Even small donations of $1, $2 or $5 will add up to a world of hope for Barney! Please share us on Facebook! Thanks a million!!
