Jerome's Battle with Cancer

Donation protected
Dear Family, Friends & Readers,

On December 13 2016 our world changed forever. Our dad, grandfather and husband was diagnosed with non-operable pancreatic cancer. Our family was devastated as my father is the ROCK of our family.

For those of you who know Jerome St Louis to say he is a hard working man is probably an understatement. Life hasn't always been a bed of roses for this man but he has risen to every challenge thrown his way. He has never asked for anyone's assistance in his entire life.

That is why it has taken us this long to begin his campaign.

And the Fight begins

In January 2017 dad was given less than 3 months to live by his doctors as his tumour was inoperable. He began radiation then chemo- therapy treatments. Then in April he contracted Pneumonia and was admitted to  hospital here he was told that he was far to weak to continue Chemo Therapy. While in hospital he needed assistance to do anything including feeding himself.  While battling and beating Pneumonia the doctors recommended that he be moved to palliative care for his remaining few months. This is when we began giving him natural supplements and alternative cancer treatments. We were told by the doctors that we were wasting our money and time.

Fast forward 6 weeks , We were called to the hospital for a meeting with the doctors. They "Suggested" that since Jerome was getting day passes everyday and seemed to be feeling better that we consider taking him home. He has been at home now with my mom for 3 weeks. He was sent home to LIVE ....not to die. We are doing everything we can to extend his life and make the best of a bad situation.

Next steps...

The costs of the treatments and other costs associated with being at home are quickly adding up. Being on a fixed income does not leave much money for supplements and treatments and extra in home care.  If he has to be admitted back to Palliative care we will have to co-pay for that as well.

If there is anything that you can do to assist the family with these expenses it would be much appreciated.

Please share Jerome's Story with you friends !

We will keep you updated on his progress.

UPDATE :
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jerome after a courageous battle with cancer on August 23, 2017 at the age of 79 with his family by his side.
