Support for Cynthia's Family
On January 16, 2018, our friend and co-worker, Cynthia, was diagnosed with Gastric Stomach Cancer. Initially, doctors informed her that she could have surgery to remove her stomach. After further testing, doctors informed Cynthia that the cancer was inoperable.
On February 6, 2018, Cynthia was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. She is currently taking chemo pills daily and is undergoing chemotherapy once every other week. Her current status has forced her to take a leave of absence from her job at the Public Defender's Office in Stockton, CA, which she has worked at for the past 14 years.
At the young age of 47 years old, everyone who knows Cynthia knows she is an amazing mother who has raised her two children on her own. Even more, Cynthia is a committed friend and co-worker.
We are raising funds to help support Cynthia and her two children, Romuel, 22, who is a student at San Jose State and Bronte, 17, who is a senior at Bear Creek High School, during this difficult time. Cynthia has been their main provider throughout their lives and the current treatment she is undergoing is making it difficult to make ends meet, as she is unable to work. Cynthia's situation is urgent and we appreciate all of the support possible.
Please keep Cynthia and her family in your thoughts.
