Cynthia Matters

Colleagues and friends,

Our hardworking, dedicated nurse colleague and friend, Cynthia Liss, has had a challenging year, to say the least. Following a life-changing stroke in March, she was diagnosed this fall with avascular necrosis of the head of her left femur. This is basically dying bone coupled with excruciating pain. Cynthia has some disease in her right hip as well. The disease and pain she continues to experience have been debilitating. Cynthia will undergo hip replacement surgery for her left hip on Monday, November 21, while simultaneously undergoing a procedure to insert potentially healing stem cells into her right hip. Cynthia is the primary income-earner for her family, has been unable to work due to unmanageable pain, and is having some financial challenges at this time.

As we experience joy and ability to give thanks at this time of celebration with our loved ones, please consider GIVING to Cynthia by donating, either in cash, PTO from a work colleague or a meal.

I want to make this as easy as possible for everyone inclined to help. Donations can be brought to the office, my home in Arlington or directly to Cynthia's home in Burke.

Thank you in advance for your generosity of time and resources.
