Cyndi's cancer surgery. A fighter. Won't quit

Donation protected
Hi friends, I'm Fred Pedersen, raising much-needed funds for a wonderful woman I'm glad to call my friend.
***2/17 Please donate what you can. Cyndi has once again had her hours cut at work, along with the employees she supervises. Her roof needs repair and there's no money for it. Just making her mortgage and other bills is near impossible. The medication to slow the spread of uterine cancer caused by a cancerous fallopian tube is experimental. It speeds the onset of menopause. It causes frequent severe nausea. Her insurance continues to refuse a hysterectomy. Next month she will undergo a biopsy to determine the extent of her stomach cancer. The condition causes her stomach to be constantly bloated. She's also in constant pain from degenerative disc disease which she's had since her early 20's. She's now about 43. It causes a sway back condition. Recently she started a medication to help her sleep. She now gets 5 solid hours. For years she dealt with brief periods of sleep every night due to pain and stress. In that regard, she's feeling better. How she dealt with a lack of deep and REM sleep for so long is a mystery. Especially considering her job entails a huge variety of complex tasks. I've seen her at work many times over the years. She's amazing. She's also deserving of a break in her stress. Again please do what you can for my wonderful friend. Thankyou.
***12/18 Please Donate what you can. Cyndi is quickly running out of money. Her hours have been cut again to 3 days a week, in a row. She has no time to recover. This does not cover her bills. The stress is causing frequent migraines. The medication she's on to combat the rare fallopian tube cancer is causing constant nausea. Anti nausea meds cause her other problems so she's in constant severe pain and discomfort. Please find it in your heart to give what you can to this brave woman. Thank you.

***11/17 Donations desperately needed. Please help.
work hours have been cut.

***MAJOR SETBACK : Infection in operative site. Cat scan upcoming on 8/4.***

***Scan shows a lesion on liver, growth on kidney.***

***Severe infection in uterus at operation site. In severe pain. Doctor prescribed a targeting antibiotic. If pain not reduced in 2 days, it's caused by something else. And she will go to emergency at Corvallis Samaritan hospital. Yet more unknowns adding to her difficulties and a longer time off work without income. This has become desperate. Any amount is helpful. Thank you.

***8/17 Antibiotic working to reduce pain at operative site, so apparently the infection is being reduced. Her extreme and painful abdominal distention (looked like 8 months' pregnant) is slowly reducing. She's still unable to work. Doctor has not released her yet. All the other pain will continue as before.

She is still facing time off work, unpaid. More bills stacking up.

***9/27 Cyndi is still off work, may be able to do some work from home. This does not pay the mortgage, much less the bills. She still feels sick all the time, still bloated. looks 8 months pregnant. Oregon Health Plan, her insurance, is denying a prescription which may be effective against her rare fallopian tube cancer. Her doctor is working to get the insurance to pay. The insurance continues to resist prescribed treatments and tests. Cyndi can't afford anything better.
Anything you can give will be useful. Thank you.

***10/25 Cyndis' financial situation is still critical. The only meds her insurance will pay for is untested for fallopian tube cancer (extremely rare). It makes her constantly nauseous. Anti nausea meds make her drowsy. Belly is bloated. Looks 8 months pregnant. Her doctor won't be available until January. Working mostly from home for very few hours per week. Once again any amount you can donate to this brave and dedicated woman will help.

She rented a house a short distance from mine for three years. She recently was able to buy a house. One of the few lucky breaks she's had recently. She and her son lived in her large station wagon in Depoe Bay for a time. For a time she cleaned houses and offices, finally able to rent a house. Over four years ago, she started work managing a high end gift store. Previous employment has been diverse. Auto mechanic, insurance sales, accounting, and building renovation. Her 19-year-old son lives with her and can't work. Both she and her son have multiple chronic physical problems. Despite severe pain from several spinal issues, sciatica and stomach and uterine cancer she does all the duties required in a shop. Lots of bending etc.

This appeal has been edited from the original. Her situation has changed. The original donations totaled about $970.

Cyndi had surgery July 17th. Not for her stomach cancer. The more pressing problem was cancer in the uterus. She had cervical cancer diagnosed at age 11. It has returned and metasticized. Her insurance company continued to deny her doctors' request for a hysterectomy, demanding test after test. Her doctor finally surgically removed endometriosis adhesions, removed a cancerous fallopian tube and performed biopsy in other areas. Fallopian tube cancer is exceedingly rare. Her doctor will come up with a treatment plan after some research. There will be another surgery in the future. She endures severe chronic pain 24 hours a day, without complaint. On the drive home from the hospital, after having been given oxycodon, she was doubled over and moaning. She's been on her feet the last couple of days instead of total bed rest. She can't lie down for long without her nightly muscle relaxer.

I'm attempting to raise more than her immediate needs because she has little money saved for the future. Cyndi, not trusting the internet, will not submit any bank information over the internet to any institution, so funds go to my account, and I immediately pay her the total amount. It took some convincing for her to allow me to ask for help. I told her that she's not asking. I am. This appeal is my idea.

She's overcome many hardships by grit, never quitting, not asking for help. She's an inspiration. She's recently had to allow people to help her due to lost time at work and increasing medical costs.

This appeal might be viewed as a scam in this cynical mistrusting world. Any detection of fraud and this fundraiser is shut down and the scammer is subject to prosecution. Please review gofundme's method of ensuring the funds go where they're supposed to.
Any amount helps. Bless you for your kindness and generosity.

With gratitude, Fred Pedersen for Cyndi Mann and her son

This is one of the checks I wrote to Cyndi. The back of the check has been cropped and only shows her countersign.
