My name is Petero Civoniceva and through my charity, the Petero Civoniceva Foundation, I want to support the people, communities, villages and towns affected by Cyclone Winston.
My Foundation has been working in Fiji for nearly two years now. We are a registered charity (registration number 1007) and our programmes are designed to address the needs in the islands, whether that be combatting the rising number of NCDs or focusing on road safety. The recent events have not only touched my heart, but also the hearts of the Foundation staff based in Fiji. We are determined to provide assistance, support and relief in any way we can.
The true horrific extent of the damage of Cyclone Winston is only just being released but what is clear is the amount of support these villages and communities need. The devastation has tragically cost people their lives, houses have been uprooted and personal possessions lost forever. The lives of many will never be the same but with your support we can make a significant contribution to help them rebuild.
The Foundation is currently putting together care packages of food, water and other essentials and shipping them out to the areas most in need. This is only the beginning. We are committed to the long-term re-building of communities in Fiji.
I will personally deliver the funds raised from this campaign to the Foundation in Fiji and this in turn will be directed to the communities and villages most severely affected by Cyclone Winston. Houses, community halls, churches and schools need to be rebuilt. The more we raise, the greater impact we can have.
Please donate whatever you can. Every dollar will go a long way and I, personally, and the Foundation will ensure 100% of every donation is directed to the Fijian people most in need.
