Cyclone Freddy appeal for Malawi
On behalf of Anake taxi services we would like to appeal for support to cyclone Freddy victims. 326 deaths have been confirmed, 918 injuries. The number of people affected cured at 501,775 from 79,602 households. Government has established 505 camps. People are currently living in make shift camps and schools where they need portable water, food, clothes and blankets as their houses were washed away with floods. The funds raised will be channeled towards children living in camps to meet food needs, clothing, scholastic materials and blankets.
Through this initiative we expect to support over 1500 students, with food rations (1 month) School bag, School Uniform, Shoe, exercise books and pens as part of recovery and back to school. The ministry of education has communicated that schools will remain closed till 17th April 23.
The president declared a state of disaster following the devastation.
