<div>Following his early arrival on Dec 29th 2023, Elliott spent 8 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Rotunda Hospital.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>There he had one day of breathing &amp; feeding support, a schedule of phototherapy and a blood transfusion.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Although his case was low-risk, due to the nature of the complication which prompted the early delivery the team took a precautionary approach to his start to life.

<div>To raise much needed funds, I’m cycling 570km from Mizen Head to Malin Head in 2024, raising as much as I can. You can see a recent example of how under-resourced the NICU team are in this Irish Times article: <a href="https://www.irishtimes.com/news/health/rotunda-staff-resort-to-online-fundraising-for-equipment-1.4119765" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://www.irishtimes.com/news/health/rotunda-staff-resort-to-online-fundraising-for-equipment-1.4119765</a>
