For many years now I have cycled around the world and now I want to organize a one year tour around the USA stopping at many towns and cities, participating in the events of organizations and candidates that support the Green New Deal while also simply explaining in word and deed the benefits of cycling and a sustainable lifestyle. In that sense mine is a mission of education and communication. I guess this will benefit society as a whole.
I will use the money to cover my expenses but also to buy equipment that I currently lack or may need to acquire along the way: Go-Pro style camera, a netbook, a new (or used) but cheap bicycle, camping gear, etc.
I hope to document my trip and activities and post on social media and I would also like to write a book (e-book or PDF format) that I would share first of all with the donors to this project, also acknowledging their contributions, of course.
In 2019 I cycled from Georgia in mid-April 2019 through Armenia, Turkey, and seven other countries to Poland in late September, covering a total of 5.500 km, all by bicycle. Over the past 8 years I've cycled some 37.000 km through 35 countries. I have been away from the USA many years, so this project is a new adventure within an already very long nomadic stretch.
At the moment I still have my own funds, but I hope to start this campaign in the winter of 2019 and continue until the elections of 2020. I hope to cycle throughout the USA, especially in the south (colder months) and northeast regions (warmer months). I would also like to meet my donors personally if they live along my itinerary: Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South and North Carolina, north and then northeast to Chicago and then perhaps back south again.
Maybe this will be the itinerary:
Could parts of the above itinerary suit you? Maybe we can meet along the way and cycle together for a couple of days and participate on this or that campaign for Green New Deal candidates? Maybe you can host a couple of us (e.g. if you belong to Warmshowers, Bewelcome, Trustroots or Couchsurfing, and if you don't, you can join!). Maybe you are going to be hosting rallies or grassroots canvassing and need helping hands? Get in touch with us and let us know where you are and what your plans are! And, of course, if you can contribute with a donation to me right here, please do so!
