Scholarship for Seniors!
City Year is a national non profit organization that unites young people, ages 17-24 for a year of full time service, giving them the skills and opportunities to change the world! The Spingarn High School Team tutors, mentors and run after school programs for students in the school.
Because we mainly only work with 9th and 10th graders. We want to reach out to the 12th grade students and offer our assistance as well, that's why we have created the City Year 2012 College Book Scholarship! Our objective is to provide 3 scholarships ranging from $100-$300 for students to use toward books for freshman year of college.
The City Year team serving at Spingarn High school will establish a scholarship fund for graduating seniors who have already been accepted into a college or university. There are three goals:
1. Provide students with financial support for the next step in their academic career.
2. Assist,support, and guide students through the application and interview process.
3. Help students think of strategies to assist them in future scholarship applications
