Cyans Journey

Hi everyone , my name is Cyan & I was born premature at 33 weeks 4 days. I weighed 4lbs 12oz  & was 19in . Not bad for a premie . Unfortunately I was born with short bowel syndrome (SBS) with possible intestinal failure.   When I was 1 day old I had my first surgery which was unsuccessful. . I depend on TPN & Lipids which help give me nutrition to survive and fats to gain weight since I am unable to eat and absorb nutrition on my own. I have something called a Gtube which helps drain my stomach of liquid acids produced by my stomach . I only have 3CM of salvageable small intestines , a blockage from my stomach to the 3CM & I may need a intestinal transplant. I am currently still an inpatient . We are waiting for me to get to 11lbs so I can have my next minor surgery to place  a broviac catheter in my chest for long term TPN. Doctors say I will need to depend on TPN long term and possibly life long but mom says GOD told her I will Make a Miracle out of my Condition. My family decided to create this page to help pay for hospital bills and the surplus of surgeries I will need in the future. Mom & Dad calls me a Warbaby bc I’ve been fighting through this and I am strong. I hope to bring awareness to kids (and adults) who were born with SBS or are living with it .
