A little bit about Liam:
Liam is your typical goofy, 11 year old boy. He loves joking around and being active. He is such a kind and caring kid who loves his family.
On Saturday September 14, Lonnie took Liam to the urgent care as he was feeling sick, which for those of you who know Liam you know he is always sick with something, but this time was a little different. Liam had a fever and was also unable to walk on his leg. After doing some tests they found fluid and an infection that tested positive for MRSA surrounding his hip bone where he had previous fallen. Since then Liam has had 6 blood transfusions and 4 surgeries to try and remove the infection, fluid, and part of his bone where the infection damaged. He has been sedated for over a week and was recently put in a deeper sedation to allow for his body to heal and focus on fighting the infection more. He has two blood clots and fluid in his lungs and is on a breathing tube. His kidneys have completely shut down and he is on dialysis. His heart has a little damage but should heal. Liam will be in the hospital for at least four weeks while the antibiotics work to fight the infection and his body heals.
Friends and family members near and far have been reaching out to Lonnie asking for ways to help and provide support while Liam is in the hospital and she deals with the stress of having her child in the hospital. Lonnie is a single mother and has delayed the start of her new job to be by Liam's side every day while he is in the hospital. I wanted to create this GoFundMe to help support her and her family in this time of need. Donations will go towards supporting the family by providing meals and helping with expenses.
