Dylan's Medical Bills

Hi guys! I am in need of some very serious prayers and any type of financial help for a good friend of mine. On Tuesday December 3rd, 2017 my friend Fernanda Valerio was at her boyfriend Erik's house and she always brings her beloved corgie Dylan with her to play with his dog Chewy. Erik was making hot tea on the stove and he had a tea kettle in his hands ready to pour when Dylan & Chewy came running into the kitchen. Dylan lost traction on the slippy floor and slid into Erik's legs. Within seconds, the tea kettle flew open and the boiling water covered Dylan and Erik.
Erik is okay with just minor burns but Dylan is not. 75% of his body is burned from the boiling water. He is located at Staten Island Veterinary Services and being treated by Dr. Corrente. The burns cover his back, stomach, paws and even his face. Dylan is Fernanda's love. She is a part of many Corgie groups and takes him everywhere with her. She is the best dog mom and I know that she is in pain seeing him in pain. We are doing everything in our power to help him recover comfortably and safely. We are devastated that such a freak accident could happen so quickly. The vet's at the hospital are estimating Dylan's bills toward recovery costing $10,000-15,000 with weeks of care and medication to heal him. His kidneys have been weakened from the burns and he is really struggling right now.
If a donation is not possible we are genuinely asking for prayers for him and his family at this time. No one could imagine being in this position. Accidents happen and our dogs always try for us so we are trying for him. Fernanda won't give up on him and he is fighting an up hill battle. We're willing to fight for him too.

**UPDATE 1- I sadly have an update that I was wishing I never had to give. From the words of his mom -
“I want to thank every single one of you for your support these last few hours. It was honestly overwhelming how many amazing people donated just for the slightest chance he could survive. Unfortunately, the injuries were beyond the point of recovery. I have lost my best friend, the reason i fell in love with corgis, my happiness coming home and the love of my life. Dylan, you blessed me with 5 years of your beautiful life and you were loved so deeply by so many people. You were my rock through some really tough times. Thank you for choosing me to be your mom. Thank you for being you. I will love you forever and nothing will ever replace you. Until we meet again, my sweet angel.”
**UPDATE 2- Fernanda- I can’t begin to express how thankful I am to every single one of you who donated especially during the holiday season when finances are tight. I cried so hard seeing how amazing people can be; people that knew Dylan was my life and people that I had never met before. It restored my belief that great people exist. Thank you is not enough. Even for those of you who just spread the word and just prayed for Dylan. I appreciate every single one of you. If you have a puppy, hold him/her extra tight and cherish every single second. Thank you again.
We are going to continue this campaign to help cover the bills that Fernanda has incurred to date. They have exceeded $4000. I understand that it is the holiday season and once again finances are tight but she would greatly appriciate it. I would like to thank each and every one of you for having the hearts that you do and praying for Dylan. There is good in this world. Hug your pups xo.
**UPDATE 3- Fernanda-"Hey everyone! I wanted to upload my medical bill and show you guys how much you have helped me with your donations through Go Fund Me. With your help, I was able to cut my expenses down in half! I am so lucky that so many people helped me. Dealing with the loss of Dylan of horrible, but the financial aspect was also very stressful.
I love you guys so much! I’m going to continue posting pictures & videos of my silly pumpkin in his memory; hopefully it’ll put a smile on your face love,Fern"
