Lifting Up a Family

Chris Gonzalez turned 13 this summer. last Spring, shortly before his birthday, he was diagnosed with 3rd stage cancer of the brain stem.  I was one of Chris' 7th grade teachers. Chris is an intelligent, hard-working young man (always honor roll), who loves God, his family, his friends, and the Dodgers:) Because he is in the fight of his life, his family is struggling.  

His mother can't work because she is taking care of him full time while he is in treatment.  The family had to give up their home and temporarily move into a Ronald McDonald house while Chris was going through radiation and chemotherpy at Loma Linda Children's Hospital. Now mom gives him chemo at home and takes him back and forth for rehab to regain his speech and mobility after he was in a coma.

They are currently living in a hotel near the school. I hope, if you are able, you can find it in your heart to give this family a lift, a chance to find a home, while they are helping this precious boy.
