Hudson

I am the mother of Hudson Brown and I am trying to raise enough money to buy a van/ bigger SUV to accommodate many trips to Cincinnati Childerns Hospital. Since this last September we have been to Cincinnati at least five times. Hudson has a very rare disease called Pelizaeus-Merzbacher Disease or PMD. This is an inherited condition involving the Central Nervous System. As a result of all this Hudson has impaired and intellectual functions, such as memory, and delayed motor skills such as walking and talking. The prevalence of PMD is estimated to be 1 in 200,00 to 500,00 males in the US. I can honestly say that Hudson is such a happy child and that without strong family support things would be much harder. We are expecting to go to the Childerns hospital again to see the surgeon and Hudson will be receiving a feeding tube. Having a special needs child is very difficult and it hurt me and my husband very much but we've both put in perspective that this little boy was sent to is for a reason and I think it makes us love him even more.
