New Rose Park Welcome Signs

Rose Park residents know that our neighborhood is a great place to live. We should have a welcome sign that reflects the pride we have in our community.
The "Welcome to Rose Park" signs on 600 N. and 1000 N. are the first things people see when they enter our neighborhood. The signs currently in place worked well for a while, but they have grown dilapidated. The Rose Park Community Council is undertaking an effort to replace them with high-quality, graffitti-proof signs that will stand the test of time.
Salt Lake City has awarded us a $9,600 grant to aid in this effort, but we can only get that money if we raise an equal amount of funding ourselves. Salt Lake City will count volunteer hours toward our fundaising. If we can meet our goal of $6,000 (now $4,000 thanks to the Rose Park Lions Club!) here, we believe we can make up the rest in volunteer hours as we complete the project. With the combined funds from this campaign and our grant, we should be able to replace all four of the welcome signs with something high-quality, durable, and beautiful.
Of course, if we raise even more money here, we can purchase even higher quality signs, or put the excess to work on landscaping around the welcome areas.
This page will be updated with design proposals as they come in. We also will be having multiple community meetings to disucss this project in the coming months. The next community meeting will be held Saturday, August 16th, from 12:00 to 1:30, at the Day-Riverside Library on 1000 N.
Thank you for your help in this efffort! Rose Park is great, but it becomes even greater when we all work together on projects like this.
