Fighting Stage 4 Colon Cancer

In August of 2017, Carol was diagnosed with Endometrial Cancer. The following month in, she was scheduled to have a hysterectomy at Highland Hospital but after an initial examination, the staff had found Carol to have also have cancer cells in her intestines. The doctor’s immediately aborted the surgery and conducted a CT scan; the result showed that the cancer originated from the colon.

Carol then underwent a colonoscopy in where hundreds of polyps, and a tumor, were found. A couple weeks later she went in for treatment plan with the Oncologist and was subsequently sent to the ER due to severe pain in her abdomen. The doctor mentioned that the pain was caused by a blockage in her intestines and that her entire colon needed to be removed immediately.

After her surgery, Carol is now receiving ongoing Chemotherapy treatment/ Her treatments have her confined to hospital walls for 4-5 days every two weeks and will be her only method of treatment for the rest of her life. Her loving husband Alfonso has made the decision to be with her every step of the way, leaving his full time job to be by her side. They have three beautiful kids that love and adore her; the sole reason for her to continue recovering and fighting the tough battle. Carol holds a special place in the hearts of not only her husband and kids, but also to the many family members and friends she’s grown close to over the years. She is exceptionally kind, beautiful, smart, funny, and most importantly has a huge heart.

The funds raised will allow her to focus on the fight with cancer and not have to worry about anything outside the hospital walls. Carol is unaware of us putting this together  and we would appreciate as much help as you can offer.
