Help Adison GO BIONIC!

Adison was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of four. She is the bravest girl I know. She smiles through the shots, the 13 finger pricks a day, the insertion of a cannula that helps deliver insulin to her body every three days, and the physical and emotional roller coaster that she rides every day of her life. This summer, a Camp in Massachusetts  conducted an outpatient study of girls ages 6-11 who wore the Bionic Pancreas. The results were simply amazing. The girls laughed, ate, and ran around like any other girls that don't have to monitor their food and exercise. They stopped feeling like Type 1 diabetics for just a little while. Adison is taking the Bionic Challenge to raise over $5,000 by September 1, 2014, to ensure that research continues and that she gets the opportunity to feel that same freedom some day.

Please help her remember what it is like to just be a little girl. The talented scientists that are responsible for creating this amazing device are not backed or financially supported by any particular manufacturer as they decided to use the best available technology, which currently consists of elements from at least three competing companies.  No amount is too small and you can significantly impact the daily reality of all Type 1 diabetics with your donations.
