Hi guys.
We all have known Kerry for years and right now she’s in a super tough spot trying to save her cute little dogs life. Many of us have pets and know the financial burden of emergency vet care so I would love to see Kerry get some financial relief here. Any bit helps and allows Kerry to continue her efforts to help save Billy.
6 days ago Billy starting losing lots of blood. He was diagnosed with Immune Mediated Thrombocytopenia. A critical disease where the immune system shuts down and attacks the blood.
Most dogs respond to the steroids quite fast but few don't. Billy is one of them. After 4 days on steroids his platelets (which should be at 146 or higher) have dropped from 5 to 0 and he is bleeding significantly.
The hope is that he will start to respond to the meds and in the meantime is needing ICU support and blood transfusions.
Kerry has already spent over $6000 and moving forward cost of treatment is $1679 a day :(
