Curtis' Medical Fund/Recovery
Donation protected
Curtis' Story is complicated. First, he has endured a congenital heart defect that was corrected surgically as a young child. In his late teens, he had 3 stents placed in different parts of the aortic arch and other vessels (original defect). The aorta is the vessel that pumps blood to the rest of the body/brain. Almost 3 years ago he survived a ruptured brain aneurysm. Since then, he has done well but has continued to suffer with headaches, etcetera and he struggles daily because of decreased blood flow from this defect. On June 13, 2017, a procedure was done to help the blood flow to the brain and the rest of his body. Complications have arisen and Curtis is now at St. Luke's/Mt. Sinai in New York City in cardiac critical care. The goal is to get him strong so open heart surgery can be performed to correct this long-standing heart defect. Then, the next steps to his recovery will be forthcoming.
