Curtis Lee Stilts Funeral Fund

My stepdad, Curtis Lee Stilts, passed away on March 7, 2018(Ironicly March is Myelo-Awareness Month). He struggled with myelodysplasia which is a group of diseases of the blood and bone-marrow with varying degrees of severity. Every week we ran him back and forth between doctors, weekly blood transfusions, and periodic admissions into the hospital. Being on disability at the age of 44, it became hard for his medical bills and medication costs to get paid. Unfortunately, his disablity didn't come through until the month of his passing and because of that, my mothers income was they only income we had. Curtis also did not qualify for life insurance due to him being too high-risk. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and son.  He stepped into a role of a father for me and my brothers and as hard as that was, he adapted the best way he could and we are all so greatful. He challenged all of us to see another point of view. Curtis was a man of passion, whatever he did, he did with his whole heart whether it was cooking, fixing something, coaching, or just being him. He was also a family man, he loved spending time with his brothers, his neices and nephews and of course his Mom. Curtis was just an all around great guy, even in his final days. We could never thank him for everything he has done in each one of our lives. He touched people's hearts in ways we never could understand. He created bonds with people quickly and cherished them all. With the funds we raise we will put towards giving him a nice home-going service. Whatever money is left we plan to donate to a charity.  We hope to raise the funds by Friday, March 16, 2018. Any donation is a great donation, we appreciate anything we can get. We love everyone's kind words, love, and support through this time of grief and we couldn't get through it without that.
