Abigail spent 9 days in the hospital where a port was placed into her heart to receive chemotherapy medicine. There she also received her first chemotherapy treatment in hopes that the tumor can shrink enough for doctors to be able to remove it. Meet Abigail’s uncle Lamar. When he heard that Abigail’s parents were ready to face this challenge with such optimism and faith, he wanted to do something to show his support. Knowing that the chemotherapy would result in Abigail losing her hair and the little curls that rested on the back of her neck, Lamar decided to get a perm in his hair as a funny way to show his support for little Abigail. Realizing how expensive and ongoing her treatments were going to be, he decided to start Curls for Childhood Cancer in order to encourage others to donate to her cause.
Please donate whatever you can to help this beautiful family as they do all they can to help Abigail heal.
What can you do? Lamar is asking that you do something to show you support Curls for Cancer. You might choose to get a perm and donate $5 per rod used in your hair to Abigail. You might choose to curl your hair with a curling iron or wear a curly wig one day. You may even hit the gym and do some curls with weights. Have fun with it and get creative. Whatever you choose to do, please snap a photo and make a post on Instagram about what you do using the hashtag #curlsforchildhoodcancer. Spread the word and show your support for Abigail.
