Cure Cookie's Cancer

Just four weeks ago, we noticed a mass between two of Cookie's teeth. Our vet decided we had best operate to remove as much of it as possible and send a sample for biopsy. One week ago we received the results: our beautiful, sweet Cookie was diagnosed with cancer. Our worst fears were realized and we were devastated. Before knowing details, we had to take her to an oncologist. 

Fortunately, there is great hope for Cookie. We received the best possible news from the oncologist: the cancer is aggressive but highly localized and will not spread if we can get it all out. Cookie will be undergoing surgery on July 30th to remove the entire area of the mass and hopefully all the cancer can be removed in the process. Two teeth and part of her jaw will be gone, but she will be able to lead a normal and happy life after recovery. 

We have always been committed to making the right choice for Cookie, no matter how hard, no matter the cost. We are beyond grateful that ours is a story with a happy ending, where Cookie will have the chance to live a good dog life for many more years. However, the cost of the two surgeries and the numerous visits to various veterinary practitioners has left us with a serious financial burden. If we are able to meet our goal, the second surgery to remove the cancer will be 100% covered. Anything over the goal will help us cover the costs we have already paid for her initial surgery and consultations. 

If you know Cookie, you know she is the sweetest, gentlest, snuggliest girl.
