Culpeper COVID-19 Bill Relief

For some of us, the COVID-19 quarantine has become a time to slow down, be with family, watch movies, bake cookies, and take leisurely walks. We haven't been inconvenienced much except for boredom and a few less toilet paper rolls in the house.
But for so many more, this means cut hours, layoffs, no paychecks, unpaid bills, and months if not years of financial recovery that lie ahead.
This crisis is not the fault of Culpeper residents who work hard every day to provide for their families. So in the face of uncertainty and crisis, I want to be the hope, and I know you do too.
This campaign was created to specifically raise money for residents of Culpeper County so that rent and mortgages, electricity and phone bills, and gas and groceries get paid for—in real time, leaving no debt. Our goal is to save people from having to dig out of this mess for months to come, and to be a part of relieving our neighbors’ stress as best we can so that they don’t have the added burden of their livelihood on their shoulders during this time.
If you or someone you know is having difficulty paying bills as a direct consequence of COVID-19, please send an email to [email redacted].
Please include in the email:
- Your occupation and name of employer (for verification). *If self-employed, please include a photo of proof of your business, such as a check with your business name or business card, etc.
- A copy of the bill that is due. Note: we will not pay overdue balances. This is only for current ones that cannot be paid because of CORONA hardship.
- A short paragraph explaining your circumstances.
We will be vetting these closely. All monies will go directly to the bill companies, not to individuals.
