Medical trip mil hosp/bills

Donation protected
UPDATE: We are still waiting for appointment dates - but I now have close communication with the person who makes those!  : )

HOWEVER - We continue to have major financial need. Patrick (and my other son, Stephen) had to move (lease was up).
Between the VA disability check short (still cannot get through!) and not enough hours at his job, he cannot make his bills this month!
PLEASE, if you can help in anyway, I (we) would be forever grateful.
I am still struggling to support my own (and my daughters') basic bills, so I am unable to help him. I am still looking (and applying!) for a better paying job. I am heartbroken that I cannot afford to send my kids to college or help them. I am ok with owning nothing and doing without for myself - but it stinks to be unable to provide for and/or help my kids.

NEED:
Financial support for trip (flight, hotel, rental car, food) from home in Orlando, FL to Bethesda, MD, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for a REQUIRED military physical for medical retirement!

My son, John Patrick Karkovice, was in the United States Marine Corps for 4 years. While recovering from 2 major knee surgeries (training injury) he became extremely ill and was diagnosed with Graves' disease, which impacts a number of his body systems. He was also diagnosed with thyroid cancer - he had the thyroid removed, underwent radioactive iodine treatment, and will remain on thyroid hormone therapy for life.

He is on medical retirement from the USMC and is on the Temporary Disability Retirement List (TDRL). This requires a MANDATORY (military orders) periodic physical examination for his medical disability retirement. He was told that the naval hospital in Florida does not have specialists required, so he has orders to go to Bethesda.
This is URGENT and ESSENTIAL for him to maintain his medical retirement status, continue to receive the financial/disability support that he needs to live, get healthy, and continue building a future.

He has been working full-time and attending community college, in spite of also having major back pain due to bulging and torn discs. He has a strong work ethic and is working hard, BUT he is physically struggling.
It has been EXTREMELY frustrating dealing with the VA, trying to get care for the many medical issues he has, resulting in the lack of care and causing great stress for him.
He lives paycheck to paycheck and has no savings or ability to fund any type of trip.

I have been a single mother of 4 with no help for the past 12 years - I went back to school (twice!) and have been working full-time, but I struggle to pay our basic bills.
My savings/investments have been completely depleted raising 4 kids on my own: paying for their health/dental insurance copays, and other medical needs; taking a lot of unpaid days off from work to care for all 3 kids throughout medical care (including Stephen's 8 major surgeries and Mary's diabetes care) over the past 7 years; cost of travel/hotel to be there throughout Patrick's medical care. My kids are my number 1 priority!

Throughout so many medical crises, my kids and I have taken care of each other - I am SO thankful for the resilience, perseverance, and faith that all 4 of them possess! I am also SO thankful for so many things. We have lived the reality that material things and even health can come and go - but character and how you choose to deal with challenges are truly what matter! : )

PLEASE help us get him to his military medical in Bethesda!
