Dear Brothers and Sisters:
With so much gratitude from all the irmandade of Ceu do Mar the GoFundMe mission is close to the finish line!

We share with you below a video of the construction work that has begun at the Church on the auspicious day of the feast of São Miguel. As you can see there is a spirit of gratitude, appreciation and much excitement for all the support that has come their way. Putting our shoulders under their canoe has deeply nourished their spirit and fueled a profound devotion to their community, Church and Doctrine which is now manifesting in the resurrection of their sacred space.

Ceu do Mar will again rise like a Phoenix and continue to be a beacon of light and healing in the city of Rio de Janeiro!

For 39 years the Church of Céu do Mar has given proof to the vision of Padrinho Sebastiao. With its community of brother and sisterhood it has anchored its physical and spiritual presence onto the side of Sáo Conrado mountain, serving the city of Rio de Janeiro and beyond.

Born in 1982, the arc of spiritual expansion and the physical church has grown, weathering many storms and reaching luminous heights – a living embodiment of love and friendship that has inspired many other communities and Churches all over the world – and now this great ship is in need of renewal and repair.

With the help of the greater irmandade, this is an SOS appeal. The decades old foundation has deteriorated to the degree of concern of possible government safety officials intervention. The goal is to raise funds to fortify the Church and lay a sound structural foundation that will serve the years to come.
