Treatment Fund for Julia Passos / Age: 12
Hi Family and Friends!
This summer the Passos family had a wonderful family vacation to North Carolina. They spent a lot of great family time together from hiking in the mountains, singing in the car, and rafting!
Julia started getting headaches during the trip to NC. When the nausea set in they thought she was getting car sick. When she didn't get better they returned to Florida and took her to her pediatrician who diagnosed her with a severe migraine. When she didn't improve after a second doctor visit they took her to the Emergency Room. The ER Doctor decided to do a scan just to rule out anything serious.
Then the family’s worst fears were realized, Julia had a golf ball size tumor in her brain. She was immediately transferred to Chris Everett Children’s Hospital and the family was informed that Julia needed emergency surgery to save her life! The next day she underwent brain surgery where the doctors successfully removed over 98% of the tumor. A few days later they received confirmation that the tumor was indeed cancerous, a glioma.
The Doctors, Nurses, and staff have all been amazing. Julia is now recovering at home from surgery. The next leg of her treatment will be up in Jacksonville for radiation and chemotherapy. This will be a seven week treatment plan.
The family wants to thank you all for your prayers, blessings, and good thoughts. The out pouring of love from all of you has just been amazing! And every day they are thankful for all the love you have shown them!
Many friends and family have asked how they can help, so I created this page so family and friends can make monetary contributions that will help with their expenses (such as lodging, gas, food, and future medical bills).
Most importantly, let's wish Julia the best in her battle so she can get back to taking amazing photos, drawing, and visiting Art exhibits! Keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
