HELPING HAND TOWARD HEALING
Cindy's battle started over 8 years ago. Her battle began with a diagnosis of colorectal cancer. After radiation and chemotherapy and several surgeries, she was fitted with a colostomy bag. Then the cancer spread to her abdomen. She continued to fight and continued her treatments and it appeared that things were improving. Cancer was in remission. Recently the cancer showed up in both lungs. Surgery was attempted, however, they determined that the surgery would not be possible because the tumor was too close to her heart . Too risky. Now she talks in a whisper as the tumor is affecting the nerve which affects the vocal cords. They do not believe her voice will come back.
She can no longer work and was forced to go on social security disability. She just turned 56. She and her husband were forced to downside their living from a home to a small one bedroom apartment. During this time they stayed with family until they could find an apartment which they barely can afford. They had to give up their second car and most of their furniture. They had to give up their dog because the apartment would not allow pets. Mounting medical expenses and months of trying to get approved for disability forced them into bankruptcy.
Through it all, she has remained hopeful. She has been brave and never complains. She battles with grace even though daily tasks have become rough. She wakes up every day, doing what she can, expecting nothing in return, but hoping for God's blessing.
Our desire is that her burden is lifted. She and her husband should not have to always have the added concern of who gets paid this month and do we have enough to buy medicines or groceries. No one should have to endure the emotional pain and stress that come from money worries while dealing with life changing health issues. They would not ask for financial assistance for themselves. They need a helping hand.
We pray for her recovery every day and will never give up hope. We would just like to bring joy into her life through this struggle and ease their financial worries. With your prayers and financial support, we believe this is possible. Thank you.
