Megan Dierker is a young, beautiful, bright student at the University of Colorado in Boulder. She is in her Senior year, and is a proud member of the Chi Omega sorority. Megan will major in Psychology and plans to attend a Physician Assistant program after graduation in the spring of 2018. As a student of Highlands Ranch High School, she graduated with honors along with her twin brother, Brendan, in 2014. Both Megan’s mom and stepdad are Douglas county teachers, her dad is a Trooper with the Colorado State Patrol, and her stepmom is a Respiratory Therapist.
On the night of October 19, 2017, Megan was visiting the Colorado State University campus to celebrate the 22nd birthday of one of her closest friends, Savannah McNealy. As they came home at the end of the night, Megan and Savannah were attacked by a gunman waiting in ambush. Megan is the lone survivor of the shooting in which 3 people died.
She has already undergone three surgeries and spent the last 2 weeks at the Medical Center Of The Rockies hospital in Loveland, Colorado. Thankfully, Megan is being released from the hospital and is on her way home to her family and friends. Now is when the real healing begins as Megan will face a long road of in-home medical and emotional care. We are hoping that with the kindness and loving spirit of so many family and friends, we can raise money to help offset her on-going medical costs from this tragic event.
