In Loving Memory of Andy Acosta

Thank you for taking a moment to read this well-deserved tribute.  Este tributo se traducira en Espanol.

My primo-hermano, Andy Acosta unexpectedly succumbed to complications of COVID the morning of January 13, 2021.  Though he had been ill for some time, he appeared to be on the mend, but unfortunately, it was too much.

Born and raised in Inglewood, CA as the third son of Jaime and Chuyita Acosta; he was the cutest, most happy-go-lucky little boy whose smile would brighten anyone's day!  Andy grew up playing baseball in the Inglewood Little League; you could find his chubby face throughout the team plaques at Shakey's Pizza on Arbor Vitae.  He was blessed to grow up around so much family from the Acosta to the Lopez side.  As he grew up, he became a part of the Acosta Tacos entourage of siblings, cousins and family acquaintances who worked together in what I call the first family-owned taqueria in Los Angeles that has paved the way to countless others.  If you know, you know! It truly was a family effort and I know there are many who share in the memories of what that means to the Acosta  Family Legacy.  Andy went to Inglewood High School and was part of the popular GORRONES crowd and was a great friend to many.   From road trips to Ensenada, to those amazing concerts of the 90s, Andy knew how to have a great time.  He was a die-hard Raiders fan and metal head.  It's no secret that he endured some challenges in his young adulthood and faced some demons.  But Andy overcame those dark moments, strengthened his relationship with God and became the man that his parents and family knew- a good Christian, responsible man, and father.  There's no question that Andy was a loving, caring soul.  He was a great uncle to his nieces and nephews and loved his brothers and sister to the core.  About three years ago, he moved out to McKinney, TX to continue to improve his life, to be a companion and support to Leslie, Josephine and Julianna, and help provide for his children.

During this difficult time, we're asking for support to bring our beloved Andy back home to CA, to be buried alongside his parents as well as to help support his children who are still trying to understand this horrible reality.  Andy leaves behind his 15 y/o daughter Harlee, 10 y/o son Andrew, his older brothers, Jimmy and Cesar, his little sister and best friend, Leslie, two sisters-in law, several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and countless cousins.

On behalf of the Acosta Family, I thank you for your time, support, and sympathy. During these unprecedented times, we understand that monetary support may be challenging; therefore we ask that you please share this campaign.

Thank You and God Bless
- Yamile Acosta

Aunque estaba en recuperación, desafortunadamente, so cuerpo no resistió.

Gracias y Que Dios Los Bendiga,
-Yamile Acosta
