Help Chris to walk again

Donation protected
We would like to make an appeal on behalf of Christopher Scott O’Brien, our son. He cannot write this letter himself because on May 4, 2014 Chris suffered a life-changing spinal cord injury. Chris dove into a swimming pool hitting his chin on the bottom, breaking his neck and rendering him paralyzed. Fear filled his heart as he immediately realized he had lost feeling and movement below his neck. His life will be forever altered as a result of the tragic event.

Chris has always been very active. He enjoys playing basketball, weight lifting and was recently promoted to assistant manager in the meat department at Publix, a large grocery store in Georgia. In January 2014, he became engaged to be married to a beautiful young woman named Rebecca Quinlan. Chris is an exceptional young man who is active in his church where he worked with the youth, encouraging and inspiring them to serve the Lord. He has compassion for those who are troubled and his strength, conviction and tireless optimism has served as a role model for others.

Now at 26 years old, Chris was accepted into an aggressive rehabilitation program at the Shepherd Center, a prestigious brain and spinal cord injury center in Atlanta, Georgia. He has since regained limited movement in his arms and wrists, along with some feeling in his upper torso. He is currently embarking on a challenging journey of rehabilitation through an intensive therapy program that will strengthen his body and help him regain more function in his hands and legs. Our family and friends are praying for Chris with the belief that God will heal him in His time. We know that God has a plan for this young couple.

In spite of the many struggles ahead, Chris is faithful and remains hopeful that he will be able to return to a productive life and stand next to his bride, Becca at their wedding scheduled May 9, 2015. But, he'll only be able to do it with support of family and friends! The fees for healthcare and doctor bills are significant. Modifications will need to be made to their home to make it more accessible. Specialized equipment will be required to assist with strength and flexibility rehabilitation. The list goes on.

Only you can make a difference in this young couple’s life.
Donate today for his future as a walking testimony!

Thank you for your prayers and support.
