My daddy has a heart of gold. He is a loving Father, husband, grandfather, brother and a wonderful friend to many.
A couple of weeks ago he suddenly found himself weak, in pain and nauseous. He walked into the ER in Puerto Rico only to find out it wasn't an ordinary flu or virus. He was diagnosed with cancer with lesions in various organs. He was rapidly losing weight and the best outcome would only come from traveling to Florida for testing and treatment. The physicians all agreed that he needed to be discharged and travel immediately. This has all happened very fast! He is now being tested to confirm possible Lymphoma. The oncologists want to begin chemotherapy on Monday.
Many have reached out with words of encouragement and prayers and all are welcome. Others have asked how they can help - here's your chance!. His insurance coverage in Puerto Rico does not cover expenses out of state. We are working on changing plans, however, it will not be effective til 9/1/2014 and we would still be responsible for 20%.
Any donations, great or small will help and all are appreciated. If all you can offer is a prayer or word of encoragement, we thank you for that too and ask that all pass this site along so that others can see and contribute!
We will post periodic updates on Dad's progress here as well. The less he has to worry about paying for treatment, the more he can focus on healing and getting better.
