Hobbs, NM hasn't seen an orchestra program since 1973. It is the mission of the HHS Orchestra Club to bring back an established orchestra to Hobbs High School, the school district, and the community.

This initiative was started by HHS senior, Julio Castillo. His deep desire to spread his love and passion for orchestral music never fails to be expressed. As a self-taught pianist and a proud member of the wonderful HHS band, choir, and piano programs, Julio has felt the immense absence of an educational orchestra program here in Hobbs.

His dream is to leave a flourishing orchestra program at Hobbs High School when he graduates, so that many more HHS students can receive and enjoy the opportunity to play in an orchestra, further enhancing the musical landscape here in Hobbs, NM, and beyond. Expanding musical curiosity and opportunity!

There are many necessities such as instrument accessories (rosin, bows, shoulder rests, etc.), sheet music, and payment of clinicians and other teachers. These are things that are necessary for the success and advancement of this new program.

"Crescendo Music" is an outside funding initiative completely run by parents of the orchestra to support the orchestra club financially. Donations of any amount would be much appreciated! Help us support our orchestra kids!
