On May 16, 2015, Crystal Blue, Miwok of Ione Band of Miwok Indians of California, (from Sacramento, CA) is graduating from her Master's Program. Crystal is obtaining her Master's Degree is Tribal Administration and Governance from the University of Minnesota, Duluth.
Crystal is the first in her family to receive a graduate degree. She is a mother to her 3 children -- Isabella (7); Angel (2), and Mia (8 months). Crystal is a full-time mother, student, and employee, and we are proud that she has accomplished so much and has been a strong role model for her family.
Crystal yearns to attend her graduation in Duluth, Minnesota. She wants her children and fiance, Ruben, to attend with her, as they have been her motivation and support on this journey. Crystal feels that she cannot attend her graduation without them.
Airline tickets are just over $2,000 (approximately $2,300) to fly Crystal, Ruben, Isabella, Angel, and Mia to Minnesota. Though her family cannot afford to fly them all to Minnesota from California, this fund has been set up to assist in those costs so that Crystal and her family can attend her Master's Program graduation, and allow her children and family to be apart of this special and once in a lifetime moment. Her children, too, can see that this accomplishment is attainable with hard work and support.
