Usually, I try to be the one to give in all aspects. Today, I am asking for your support. I have been caring for my nephew for almost two years, as his legal guardian. I do not receive any assistance from the state, except for his Medicaid insurance. Recently, I have been asked to temporarily care for his newborn sister. This is something that I was not prepared for financially. Unfortunately, we are offered no assistance from the state because we are not licensed foster care providers; however, we have applied for a foster care license and will have to wait six months to 9 months for approval. Until this time, I need to offset some of the added costs of caring for Brylee, who was born needing some extra medical attention with extra trips to the pediatrician and the specialists. She is also on special formula for sensitive tummies and I have not even mentioned ALL of the extra things a baby needs…
My husband works full-time to support our family, while I work as a substitute teacher to supplement the family finances, as well as finance my own personal business venture of T.A.L.K. (a community based group therapy agency). I would like to be able to work two or three days per week, so I am trying to raise money to help pay for child care expenses and other things that may arise. Without your kind support, I cannot afford the added cost of childcare and will not be able to work. Hopefully, the money I raise will help me continue to care for Brylee and contribute to the added needs of my family. Thank you.
