UPDATE: Since creating this campaign, Eric's health has unfortunately declined.  Friday on 4/6/18, Eric developed cold symptoms that we assumed were allergy related. By Saturday, he was running a fever...then by Monday, he was diagnosed with bronchitis. Over the course of the week he was still running a fever and his symptoms increased in severity. By Wednesday he was diagnosed with pneumonia. By Friday, he was admitted into the hospital because the pneumonia caused him to go into acute respiratory failure. We are currently still in the hospital as of 4/16 and will probably remain so for the next week, or until his lungs heal and regain their strength without Eric having to be on constant oxygen support. He's still very weak and unable to even  move around in his hospital bed without becoming winded which causes him to go into violent coughing fits. Doctors fear that Eric now has pulmonary disease or COPD caused from battleing chronic asthma since he was 5.  Needless to say, he will need continuous care once he is discharged from the hospital and he will need various prescriptions to ensure his continued healing. He will most likely remain on oxygen support at home as well and he will have to follow up with a pulmonary specialist to determine the amount of damage that the pneumonia has done to his lungs.  Having no health insurance at the moment, I am fearful of how we will be able to get the medications and continued care he will need once being discharged from the hospital.  Besides financial support, please pray for the healing of my sweet husband and that there has been no serious permanent damage to his lungs.

As some of you know, Eric has been overwhelmed by multiple health problems over the past 3 months. He has gone through two bouts of bronchitis since January.  Most recently though in February, he was diagnosed with a superficial blood clot in his right leg. Because of the location of the clot at the time, doctors didn't seem to be too concerned. However, just 2 weeks after being diagnosed with the clot, Eric  was checked into the  stabilization unit at Second Season for complications in suffering with severe depression, which was brought on by the use of Prednisone used to treat the bronchitis. Eric was informed that the Prednisone interfered with his normal psych medication, and should have never been prescribed to him given his history of chronic depression.  While in Second Season, the staff did not properly administer his medications used to treat his blood clot causing the clot to become worse. Upon release from Second Season the blood clot became so severe that his entire right leg was swollen so badly to the point he could barely walk.  We returned to his primary care doctor right away and they performed more tests and discovered that the  clot had grew in size and the entire vein leading from his ankle to his inner right thigh was completely blocked. He began treatment with a blood thinner immediately. Had they not discovered the severity of the clot in time, it could have been fatal.  Also, within the same day of testing, we learned that Eric has Type 2 Diabetes. Needless to say, he has been hit with a lot all at once. Right now it is crucial for him to keep up with his regular doctor appointments and medications, but his doctor will no longer be able to see him if he can't pay off his current balance which is over $1000.00 at this point. We currently have no health insurance and are paying for everything out of pocket.  His current doctors visits, plus medications, and diabetic supplies have added up very quickly. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
