What is our purpose and how are we going to raise money?
The purpose of Crossing the Bridge (our project name) is to raise funds for Summerbridge, in hopes to provide an even better experience for the program’s students and to offer more resources despite the difficult times of the current situation. Our fundraising is primarily being done through selling handmade custom stickers, in which we can print any design you may wish to have. Donations are still accepted without the purchase of a sticker. One custom sticker costs $3. If you wish to purchase a sticker, please email me a picture of your design and your address. You can email me at [email redacted] with any questions or sticker designs.
What is DECA?
Sunny Chen, Francesca Bartolacci, and myself Kanchan Gupta, have been actively working on a Community Giving Project for DECA, which is an organization that students all around the world participate in. “DECA’s mission is to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.”
Who are we raising money for?
The Summerbridge program intends to educate young and flourishing minds as they grow older. Just because they are not exposed to propelling opportunities, doesn't mean they are incapable of reaching their full potential. Many of us may not understand how hard it is for others, but Summerbridge builds connections, relationships, and the trust these students need to go on and build lives for themselves. However, after COVID-19 struck, the program was forced on hold and this year, and it was even more detrimental towards the low-income students in need of the supplies that Summerbridge provided.
