2019 CROP Foundation Scholarship

Tax deductible
Established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit entity, the Community Resource Opportunity Project (C.R.O.P) Foundation is a public charity, incorporated in Virginia, striving to make a positive difference in the lives of youth in the Hampton Roads Region.  Our specific focus is on youth residing in the City of Chesapeake, VA.  Our mission is to create a community in which all children and young adults living in Hampton Roads have the tools to grow and thrive.

We have seen that for far too many children, they do not have the support they need to obtain a higher education and reach their fullest potential.  Financial support for higher education costs, a positive role model, or even regular nutritious meals, are simply out of reach. To this end, we are organized around these three themes: 1) to assist to provide financial support for youth to obtain a higher education; 2) to provide hunger relief services for students and families (primarily through food drives); and, 3) to provide mentoring opportunities to support young people in their academic endeavors.

We believe that by nourishing the minds, bodies, and souls of our children today; we are creating stronger communities for tomorrow!

This fundraising campaign is specifically asking for your help to fund our 2018 Scholarship Program!  Our scholarship program provides awarded funds to at-risk students graduating from a public high school in the City of Chesapeake, VA.  The program will provide up to two students with  a scholarship of up to $1,250.00 each to assist the students in their post secondary educational pursuits.  Students must have a GPA of at least 3.0 and a have a demonstrated history of service to their local community.  All funds collected through this campaign will be used to directly support our programs.  Awarded funds will be made payable directly to the college/university of the students' choice for use towards 2018-2019 post secondary education costs.  Funds will be competitively awarded to students in July of 2018.

Our board of directors, officers, and committee members are made up entirely of volunteers, committed to improving the lives of our children. We advocate for and support those who need our help.   Please help us to support the dreams of our youth!  Please donate today!
