Critical Condition Need Support

On September 15th, 2022, my darling fiancé, Gagandeep Singh, was injured in a terrible accident on the 401. If you live in or near Toronto, these accidents seemingly happen all the time; they are largely covered as traffic news and entirely obscure the humanity and heartbreak these accidents bring about. Gagan was born in Punjab, India, and came to Canada on a study permit to complete his education and pursue his lifelong dream of becoming an aviation pilot. Upon completion of his studies, Gagan began the aviation program and worked night shifts as a truck driver to pay his way through the program. Determined to succeed, Gagan worked tirelessly to achieve his goal, all while projecting a kind and cheerful demeanor he is so well known for. However, his recent accident may have changed the trajectory of his life forever. Gagan suffered serious and life-threatening injuries including broken ribs, a head concussion, massive internal bleeding, as well as damage to his spleen, liver and kidneys. Gagan also suffered injury to his knee ligaments and a serious wound to his elbow, which will require intensive physiotherapy, and sadly, may prevent him from achieving his dream of becoming a pilot. Gagan and I both came to Canada as international students. We both came alone and have had to manage not only our cost of living, but also international rates for tuition, which are significantly higher than domestic rates. Health insurance and/or access to OHIP health care is not included in those tuition rates, nor was his employer required to offer insurance. When Gagan awoke from this catastrophic accident, he was not only confronted with the almost certain end of his dream, but he must also figure out how to pay for his extensive hospital bill. We need help. We have completed forms to WSIB and are waiting to see if he is eligible as an international applicant and part-time employee. The breadth of the financial repercussions he will suffer as a result of this accident are yet to be discovered. Gagan has a long road to recovery ahead of him, and any help you can offer is most welcome.
