Critical Therapy Needed

Donation protected
I am in the third year of my new life living with a spinal cord injury. I had a back surgery that was supposed to be routine and take 2 hrs.. It was a 6 hr surgery and I woke up paralyzed from the waist down. I so hoped in the first two years that I would get some function back! I have been working really hard and praying, but nothing has come back.

I was told that I could learn how to walk again without feeling my legs. I know it can be done, I have seen some individuals who have learned. It is a lot of work and it does not happen overnight.  It takes dedication,  but I want to walk again So badly that I am continuing to fight for it.

Last year I went to a facility called Stay in Step Spinal Cord Injury Recovery. They do intense training, training that you do not get at regular physical therapy.  The facility specializes in SCI injuries and all training is paid for out of pocket. Each session is 150 dollars and you attend three sessions a week, so it adds up quickly.
I can no longer work as I used to take care of newborns and I am unable to do that anymore. I miss my job terribly!  My husband had to step down from his management position so he could be home for me more.  Therefore his salary is much less now.
I was unable to do my training sessions for awhile because I tore my rotator cuff and then I had to have another major back surgery.  My spinal column was moving around due to an infection and was very painful! The doctor had to fuse me from level T10-L3.

Being disabled and I hate saying that word just because I don't like to think of myself that way. But I am and it has been So Difficult.  Not only Physically difficult but mentally, emotionally and a strain on relationships. We really need help!
We have been struggling for awhile now and I haven't been able to do all my therapies.
Therapy is crucial for me for reasons even beyond being able to walk again! When the body suddenly stops moving, the joints and muscles become dangerously stiff, even leading to contracture.  Stretching the hips, legs and feet daily, ideally from a professional can reduce the risk of deformity and tightness. Moving, getting up and walking with assistive devices is also important for bone density. Treatments such as massage and heat stimulate the nerves and reduce edema.

We don't like to ask for help but this life is very difficult, more difficult than we ever could have imagined!  If you are able to help in any compacity we would appreciate it very much! Thanking you In advance!
